Masuo Ikeda Biography: 1934 Born in Taodenshi, Fengtian City, Manchukuo. 1960 Received the Minister of Education Award at the 2nd Tokyo International Biennial Exhibition of Prints (The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo). 1961 Received the Excellence Award at the 2nd Paris Biennale. 1962 Received the Governor of Tokyo Award at the 3rd Tokyo International Biennial Exhibition of Prints. 1964 Received the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo Award at the 4th Tokyo International Biennial Exhibition of Prints. 1965 Received the Fourth Prize at the 6th International Biennial Exhibition of Prints, Ljubljana. 1966 Received the Excellence Award at the 1st International Print Biennale, Krakow. Received the Grand Prize in the Print Division at the 33rd Venice Biennale. 1967 Received the Minister of Education Award at the 17th (Showa 41st Year) Art Encouragement Prize. 1969 Received the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Yugoslavia Award at the 8th International Biennial Exhibition of Prints, Ljubljana. 1977 Masuo Ikeda's 20 Years of Prints Exhibition (Shinjuku Isetan). Received the 77th (First Half of Showa 52) Akutagawa Prize for Dedicated to the Aegean Sea. 1978 Shiko Munakata and Masuo Ikeda Joint Exhibition (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). 1979 Produced his first film as director, Dedicated to the Aegean Sea. 1981 Masuo Ikeda's 25-Year Journey Exhibition (Organized by The Yomiuri Shimbun, Navio Gallery, Osaka). Produced his second film as director, Rome Can Be Seen from the Window. 1983 The Unknown World of Masuo Ikeda Exhibition (Ito Masuo Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art). 1984 Held his first ceramics exhibition at Nihonbashi Takashimaya. 1993 Masuo Ikeda Artworks Exhibition (Nagoya Matsuzakaya Museum). Masuo Ikeda ART HISTORY Exhibition (Obuse Museum, Nagano Prefecture). Masuo Ikeda's 10th Anniversary of Ceramics - Ancient Visions and 100 Views of Mt. Fuji Exhibition (Nihonbashi Takashimaya). 1994 60th Birthday Happo Kiln Commemorative Exhibition (Urawa Isetan, Niigata, Kichijoji stores). 1995 The World of the Heart Sutra Exhibition (Kyoto Daimaru Museum). Received the Excellence Award at the 2nd Fuji Sankei Biennale International Sculpture Exhibition (Utsukushigahara Open-Air Museum).
