⚠️ The shinai (bamboo sword) shown in the photo is not included. This listing is for the shinai bag only. ⚠️ Although the item is new and unused, it is a vintage remake, so the condition is listed as No noticeable scratches or dirt. Product Description I used to commission a senior from my hometown, who specialized in Upcycled Casual and Japan Vintage Remake, to sew these items. However, inspired by the words, Why don't you try making one yourself this time?, I have started making them myself. This shinai bag is made by dismantling old Kendo uniforms and tailoring them while preserving the original shape and cut lines as much as possible. I have intentionally left in distortions, marks from removing strings, and stitching marks to create a one-of-a-kind item that allows you to feel the time the material has lived through. The tip is made of indigo-dyed deerskin. This is a durable material used for protective gear, so there is no worry of color transfer during transport. The seams are misaligned. Please check the images. Specifications Example storage: Photographed with 3 x 3.8 size shinai stored Size: Width approx. 15cm / Length approx. 140cm String: Indigo-dyed approx. 85cm Materials: Old Kendo uniform (cotton, indigo-dyed sashiko weave), Tip: Indigo deerskin (sulfur-dyed) Please Note (Must Read) This product is a one-of-a-kind item made from repurposed old Kendo uniforms. Due to the thick material (woven sashiko + deerskin), there is a misalignment in the leather at the tip. Please only purchase if you understand this as an outlet-style finish. As we utilize the original shape, there may be cutting distortions, marks from removed strings, and individual differences in color and texture. Please only purchase if you understand these as part of the item's character. Click here for the manufacturer's site
