Crystal shoe-shaped music box playing the melody The Girl in the Red Shoes, with a silver finish. Manufactured by the former Sankyo Co., Ltd. (now Nidec Corporation). - Design: Crystal music box with a carved shoe design. - Color: Silver and crystal. - Features: Rotating mechanism at the base plays music. Likely an 18-note movement. Plays the phrase ?Akikutsu haiteta onnanoko, ijinsan ni tsurerarete itchattatta? (The girl in the red shoes was taken away by a foreigner). When the base mechanism is fully wound, it repeats this phrase 14 times. It is in working condition. Found in the back of a chest at my parents' home. It is believed to have been purchased by my late father, who was from Yokohama, through a newspaper advertisement during his lifetime. Includes the instruction manual. Cardboard lid box dimensions: Height 113mm x Length 188mm x Depth 148mm. Weight of the unit alone: 340g. These are amateur measurements. I searched online retailers for more information but could not find any listings for similar items. It is estimated to be a rare item manufactured several decades ago.
