Signed mid-century cufflinks from one of the most respected men's accessory designers of the 1960s. Marked destino © — the signature of Ralph Destino, who founded his company in 1958, designed for Saks Fifth Avenue, became Chairman of the Gemological Institute of America, then joined Cartier in 1971. Round gold-filled disc with refined crosshatch engine-turned texture in a smooth raised border — clean, masculine, mid-century boardroom elegance. Toggle backs pivot forward and backward — a patented Destino comfort feature. Backs show expected tarnishing where base metal has oxidized — normal for gold-filled pieces of this era. Faces and bars remain bright. ✦ Maker: Destino, signed destino © ✦ Era: circa 1960s ✦ Material: Gold-filled ✦ Face diameter: 3/4 ✦ Toggle bar: 3/4 ✦ Total height: 1 ✦ Closure: Articulated pivoting toggle ✦ Condition: Good vintage — bright faces, patina on back
