For sale is a Schreiber S16 bassoon made in Germany. This model is an intermediate instrument aimed at members of amateur orchestras and wind ensembles, characterized by its solid resonance and stable intonation. This is a rare glossy finish Schreiber, in excellent condition. It was recently used in a performance (early May) and is ready to play immediately. I am selling it because I have upgraded my instrument. I originally received it from an acquaintance in nearly new condition and have used it for about 8 years. It is easy to play with good intonation. [Instrument Overview] • Model: Schreiber S16 • Country of Manufacture: Germany • Material: Maple wood (high-grade wood) • Number of Keys: Multi-key specification, close to higher-end models • Condition: Beautiful condition inside and out, adjusted Compared to the S13, this model has more keys, including enhanced roller keys and a left-hand thumb key, making it suitable even for intermediate to advanced players. [Condition and Maintenance] • Fully balanced and adjusted in February 2025, ready for immediate use. • Pads and springs are in good condition, and key action is smooth. • No significant damage to the body or metal parts (minor scuffs and signs of age are to be expected). • Cork on the body joints is in good condition and provides a good seal. [Accessories] • Original hard case (interior: red velvet-like, exterior also in relatively good condition) • Crooks (2: No. 1 and No. 2) [Additional Information] Currently, a new bassoon of comparable class (e.g., Fox 222D) costs over ¥1,700,000 (tax included). This instrument offers excellent cost performance for those looking for an intermediate instrument that can be used for a long time, from beginner to advanced levels. This model is no longer in production and is likely to become increasingly difficult to obtain in the future. [Shipping] • Shipping Method: Yamato Transport (scheduled for 160-180 size, anonymous) • Shipping Estimate: Within one week of purchase. Although it is a used item, it is in good condition and ready to play immediately. Please feel free to comment if you have any questions or would like additional photos.
